Itinerary

Day 1 – Thermopylae & Meteora

Your private driver will meet you at your Athens accommodation early in the morning to begin your journey north.

Your first stop is Thermopylae, the historic battlefield where King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans made their legendary stand. You’ll visit the statue of Leonidas and the commemorative site before continuing your drive through Central Greece.

As you approach the Meteora region, optional experiences can be included depending on the season. In spring and autumn, you may take part in a truffle hunting experience in the nearby forests, followed by a mushroom-based tasting. During the Christmas period (December to early January), a stop in Trikala can be arranged to visit the famous “Mill of Elves,” a festive park especially popular with families.

Arriving in Meteora in the afternoon, enjoy your first views of the towering rock formations and cliff-top monasteries. Your driver will take you to panoramic viewpoints—particularly beautiful around sunset.

Check in to your hotel in Kalambaka or Kastraki for your overnight stay.

Day 2 – Meteora Monasteries

After breakfast, begin your exploration of Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit 2–3 monasteries depending on your pace and preferences, with your driver helping to adjust the route and timing for the best experience.

Following your visit, begin the return journey to Athens with a relaxing lunch stop at a seaside taverna in Kamena Vourla, a coastal town known for its natural hot springs.

Arrival back at your Athens accommodation is expected in the early evening.
