Itinerary
Pick-up from your Athens accommodation
Your driver will meet you at your Athens accommodation and transfer you to Piraeus Port, where you’ll take the morning ferry to Aegina (typically the 9:00 AM departure). The scenic ferry ride across the Saronic Gulf takes about one hour.
Visit the Temple of Aphaia
Upon arrival on the island, your first stop is the spectacular Temple of Aphaia, one of Greece’s best-preserved ancient temples. Set atop a pine-covered hill, this 5th-century BC Doric temple offers both historical insight and stunning panoramic views. You’ll spend about 45 minutes to an hour exploring the site.
After visiting the temple, you have two wonderful options to tailor your day based on your interests:
• For a refreshing experience, driver can take you to Perdika port for a short boat ride to Moni Island, a small, uninhabited island known for its crystal-clear waters and natural beauty —perfect for swimming and relaxing on the beach.
• Alternatively, you can visit Agios Nektarios , one of the most important and visited Orthodox churches in Greece. This peaceful and impressive site is dedicated to Saint Nektarios, a beloved modern saint of the Orthodox Church, and is ideal for those seeking a more spiritual experience.
After your chosen activity, enjoy lunch at a seaside taverna featuring local Aeginetan cuisine (about 75 minutes). Fresh seafood and island specialties are always on offer.
Later, take a relaxing walk around Aegina’s charming town. Explore neoclassical streets, enjoy the harbor atmosphere, and don’t forget to sample or shop for the island’s famous pistachios—considered among the best in the world.
In the late afternoon, return to the port for your ferry back to Athens. Your driver will be waiting for you at Piraeus to take you back to your accommodation.
